Book Blogger Hop: One Thing You Don’t Know About Me

Book Blogger Hop

Blogging Question: What is one thing your blog readers probably do not know about you?

My Answer: There is one thing that not everyone knows about me: I have the worst sense of humor (according to others). I find jokes funnier when they are made at other people expense. I’m actually not sure if I’m stating that correctly so let me try again. I laugh harder at jokes that make people uncomfortable. Nearly all of my jokes are those that are meant to unsettle people. Cruel? Probably but I can’t help it. My husband is always reminded of how un-funny I am. But I am a person who is content when laughing- Even if I’m the only one laughing.

Book Blogger Hop: Favorite Thing About Blogging

Blogging Question: What is your favorite thing about blogging?

A while back I was interviewed on Ramblings of a Book Junkie and was asked the same thing. At the time my answer was “Well there are two things in particular that I love about book blogging. 1) All of the great people I’m meeting. 2) How supportive the blogging world is. I feel so much support and I have had people really go out of their way to help me. I am so grateful and can already see that start of so many great friendships forming.” I honestly continue to feel that way but being as I have something to add to my answer, I figured I’d give this question another try.

This is something that I don’t like to advertise but the people that know me, know it as a fact. I am a quitter. I try to stick to my decisions and I try to see them through but when the going gets tough I turn tail and run away. I’ll soon be reaching my two month blog anniversary and I’m realizing how much I am changing.

Having this blog reminds me of being a parent. This here is my baby and I really love running it. It’s a job that is overwhelming at times, it’s stressful and is known to give me headaches but it is rewarding and I am so happy and proud of it. I put so much of myself into it and it’s not always an easy thing to do. Yet, I am constantly motivated and looking forward to interactions from my readers. In truth that is a very big motivator for me.

For once, I find myself truly and simply refusing to give up. When I am stressed out or overwhelmed, I still make sure I am keeping up with my blog schedule. The point is that for once in my life I’m not allowing myself to quit. I love that this blog is helping me become a strong, better and more persevering person.

Book Blogger Hop: The One Genre I Will Never Read

So I was recently stalking checking out a fellow bloggers page and saw a really cool meme she was participating in. So here I go, attempting it as well.

What is the one genre you will NEVER read?

Horror. Since early in my childhood I have always had my older brother forcing me to watch scary movies. In my childhood the movies that gave me the worst of my nightmares were It and Chuckie. Now, him being ever the bully still forces my twenty something year old ass to watch scary stuff. Now though he has moved on from movies and makes me watch ghost hunting shows. I don’t appreciate it and hate it even more when he screams boo in my ear when I’m already scared shitless. But later on in the night while I’m quaking with fear, with the lights turned on hiding under my blanket I realize that although I will never willingly watch that show it really was interesting. And that is my relationship with horror. It terrifies and fascinates me all at once.

All in all, I don’t have a genre I strictly won’t do. I absolutely love reading and I like to give everything a try. However, horror is one genre that I am very weary of and approach with lots of caution.
